The Montreal Impact announced this week that they have signed 2011 Impact player, Hassoun Camara

He now joins Colombian  defender Nelson Rivas as the first two players signed for 2012. Camara, 27, was named the club's MVP last season and selected to the NASL's "Best XI Team."

He started all 22 games for the Impact, had two goals scored and one assist in 1,949 minutes of action in '11.

Camara played for Olympique de Marseille (
1st division in France) in 2006-2007 and SC Bastia (2nd division in France) from 2008 to 2010.

“This deal represents a good opportunity for Hassoun to play at a higher level and to challenge himself,” Impact head coach Jesse Marsch told the club's official website. “For the club, it’s an opportunity to add a quality player to our roster. At the same time, it brings continuity from the 2011 season for our debut next year in MLS.”
