Impact annouce multimedia deal heading into MLS

The Impact and the Quebecor Media Group have announced a five-year partnership as the club enters MLS in 2012.

TVA Sports will be the official broadcaster of the club. TVAS will be showing 24 high-definition Impact games next season.

“The entire Impact organization is very excited about the partnership we have formed with Quebecor Media and its subsidiaries,” Impact president Joey Saputo said in a press conference Thursday. “With this announcement, we can confirm today that all Impact games will be broadcast on television in high definition starting [in] 2012."

The President and CEO of TVA Sports Pierre Dion said, “We want to offer rich, varied coverage that gives viewers full information about the Impact and the game of soccer through interview with players, behind-the-scene reports and interviews with the team’s owners and with experts.

Videtron will provide a high-tech experience at all home games at Saputo Stadium, along with some other features. They include: moblie applications (apps), online clinics for young players and interactive solutions to engage Montreal Impact fans.

Quebecor Media is a subsidiary of Quebecor Inc. and is one of Canada’s biggest telecommunications and media companies.
