The Montreal Impact will host FC Edmonton this Saturday in their eighth game of the season. Kickoff from Saputo Stadium is set for 2:30pm ET. The Impact will look to secure their first home victory of the season.
"The two games we have lost recently (against Carolina and Tampa Bay) were tough games mentally but that's part of sport," said Impact head coach Marc Dos Santos. "We got the tie in Florida but we need to work harder and get the win. We need to be more consistent and be at our best in possession and ball circulation."
Saturday's match-up will the second of the season for these teams. Montreal got their first (and only) win of the season in that one, shutting out Edmonton 5-0.
Striker Ali Gerba scored his first two goals of the season in that game at Alberta on May 1.
Impact midfielder Leonardo Di Lorenzo will return to the lineup after serving his automatic one-game suspension for a red card in Tampa Bay on May 21.
There are a few players that the Impact will be without going into this one. Defender Nevio Pizzolitto, midfielder Luke Kreamalmeyer (both due to injuries) and Ali Gerba (due to national team duties for Canada in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup).
FC Edmonton is in their first NASL season and are currently second in the standings with 16 points. Their record sits at 5-wins, 2-loses and 1-tie.
